Change Exchange 2011

Dean of DAMU Jan Hančil, Dr. Alexander Komlosi, and Howard Lotker returned to Czech Center NYC for two weeks of workshops of Inter(acting) With the Inner Partner (IWIP) at Czech Center New York, and also at Yale University, accompanied by presentations of The Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts’ in Prague (DAMU’s) new English language Masters’ Programs and Summer School. IWIP is a unique Czech psycho-somatic dialogical solo improvisation discipline (not only for performers) which has been developed in Prague by writer, performer, psychologist and educator Professor Ivan Vyskočil and his assistants over the past 30 years. This was the fourth time that IWIP teachers were holding workshops in New York for both new and continuing students.

Our next stop was the University of Colorado Boulder (UCB) for two weeks of teaching and performing. Longtime HoME collaborator, Assistant Professor at UCB Chip Persons invited us to present DAMU’s English language programs and IWIP to UCB students and the wider community, accompanied by performances of HoME’s Oedipus (complexly) at UCB’s Atlas Theater.
